Fred Hope is an artist and teacher based in Laguna Beach, California. He has taught at the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena where he attended on full scholarship and currently teaches Figure Studies at the Laguna College of Art and Design.

Fred was influenced by world-class creativity from both branches of his family tree. His father created themed architectural designs for the 1964 world’s Fair, Disneyland and Walt Disney World and his two grandfathers earned a collective six Oscars for motion picture design. His grandmother, Thelma P. Hope, was a well known portrait artist in Newport and Laguna Beaches

Fred worked at Walt Disney Imagineering from 1969 until 1977, leaving to start his own creative design company, The Works. In the 90’s, Fred founded and served a three year term on the Board of Directors of the Themed Entertainment Association, the first professional creative association of it’s kind.

After more than 30 years of working with diverse American and international clients, such as Sony, Panasonic, Disney, The People’s Republic of China and Knotts Berry Farm, Fred left the entertainment industry and began to travel, teach and paint full time. He is currently the President of the
Southern California Artists Association.
